Google Maps add Location EDIT
Idle browsing led me to discover this:
Just realized either Apture or Flash Player 10 won’t allow me to view fullscreen for embedded content (see comments). Here’s the original vid link if you’re not having any joy: http://bit.ly/4ESqN1

Not forgotten...
Yes yes, it’s been a while. But with finishing off work on an eLearning game, getting it trialed & tested on the unsuspecting minds of UHL’s Medical students, poster presentations & starting new work running a busy A&E department in the city centre - I’ve slipped.
But then I think this is what is always destined to happen. I spend ages wanting to write about things...

Trustworthy Smart Searching + FriendFeed needs...
I’m a massive fan of both Twitter and FriendFeed. They’ve managed to knit together social networking with websearch to create much more personal and (most importantly) trusted results. People on the web are becoming a lot more savvy, by which I mean they’re becoming more skeptical about the information Google suggests.
While it only takes a click to check if the information is...

Multi-Tab URL Shortening
Just to begin, I don’t have the answer to this question. If anything it was more an idea I had a while ago when I started to use services like TinyURL more and more. Is Kyte a Seesmic killer?
Following on from a del.icio.us link saved by AJCann (you probably don’t know it, but cheers!) - I came across a review of Kyte versus Qik and Flixwagon on TechCrunch written by arch bloggosaurus Robert Scoble.
After a read of the review, I started to play around with Kyte and what it had to offer. The overview video by Kyte was very informative as to how their service operates and can even...

Shortlisted for PhD Interview
So I’m happy to report that I’ve been accepted onto the shortlist for the PhD I’m applying for. Hurrah! Although one of my referees has still yet to submit his reference despite both mine and the PhD supervisors efforts.
Aside from this I’m really glad I get to speak in person with my peers about my interests. I find it much easier to explain face-to-face rather than...

FriendFeed Rooms Vs StumbleUpon Vs del.icio.us?
Who do you think will come out on top? Does FriendFeed have a better community than del.icio.us? Does the rating of sites (StumbleUpon) supersede simply just commenting about a site (FriendFeed)? Which has the best integration within applications both online and off? Or does this change nothing as each serves its own purpose?
Starting anew
I’ve been looking to find a blog that I can update now and again with my thoughts and ideas. It feels I’ve run the gauntlet to get here and the journey may not be over, but Tumblr at least looks pleasant and has lots of uploading potential. Being a scientist I wanted somewhere I could upload to and ponder theories. My current aims are to be accepted for PhD study so I can write and...
